The General Cleaning

I went to the dentist to have my teeth cleaned today. The last time I did this was somewhere around ten years ago. The dentist recommended a general cleaning, so I decided it was about time to get the teeth cleaned. Picks and scrapping and wondering if my teeth are ever going to make it out of the cleaning, I found myself extremely tense sitting in, or should I say laying, in the chair. The lady (did the cleaning said I was lucky that I didn't have more plaque than I did. The build up was about the same as she's usually sees for six months. She also complemented me on the care of my teeth. It was good to know that I do take care of my teeth. She started with a gum check. OUCH!! Then moved on to the scrapping. OUCH! (Are my teeth going to still be there? Please be careful. These are the only teeth I have.) Then she polished and flossed my teeth. OUCH! Needless to say she was not gentle in any way. You would think that it wouldn't take but maybe an hour for the pain to wear off, it didn't. There are still a few teeth that are feeling the pick. Glad it's over with though. I still need to figure out a date I can have them fill a few flaws in some teeth. Thankfully, they are not really hurting, so it gives me some time to work with, although I thought they were going to fix those today. Oh well.
