It seems I have survived another heart filled, red and pink bedazzled day. As the day wore on Wed. turned into Thurs. in my mind. To make valentines week worse, we have a tax company in town that has ordered an enormous amount of cookies. It's some advertising thing. Anyway, they have people come and pick up the orders to pass them out to other business's. I don't know where they find these people, but they're all winners. Some of them have missing teeth, smell like smoke, wear sweat pants, or just look like homeless people. I would not want these people representing the face of my company. I keep thinking that one normal person will come to pick up one of the orders; it never happens.
In other heart news..... "Hi, I placed an order earlier, and I'd like to change it." These words are ones you don't want to hear at any point. "I'm picking up an order tomorrow and I need to order another 2 doz. hearts. Is that possible?" Another thing you don't want to hear. The bad thing is I heard both those in the same phone conversation. Orders like this try the patience, which is beginning to wear thin. Unfortunately, it is a little early to run low on patience. I still have till Sat. and it only gets more hectic and crazy. Like my boss says, "It would be nice if you could tell people what you were thinking for just one day." This would be very dangerous, but it sure would feel good. When somebody says, " Holy @#%*, that's a ridiculous price!", it would feel good to reply, "If you worked here you wouldn't be saying that, and thanks for being so rude and dissing my art to my face." Patience - low. Biting my tongue - hard to do at times. Imagining slapping some rude, think they own the world people - somewhat relieving. Hoping to find the sanity to last the rest of the week, I have vented to all of you. Hopefully, hearts don't invade my dreams as well as everyday life.
Weird about the people the tax company sends to get the cookies. Maybe they aren't really from the tax company. BWAHAHAHAHA!
ReplyDeleteThey probably are not, but I delivered to one in Greeley, and the people there looked just about the same. Also, it just reminds me of a front for another business in the back. If you get my drift. :)
ReplyDeleteFunny stuff. I can sure see how it would make you insane. I have always thought it was a silly holiday too. Heard a statistic that 2 out of 3 women are disappointed with their valentines day. So no matter how much money they make us spend it is still not enough!
